2021.09.21 15:28 AnyPairIsTheNuts 4bet sizing, live 2-5
V1 opens to 20 utg, 7 handed. This player is exceptionally loose, I've seen him open hands like J7o utg before. He knows these hands are no good once other players get aggressive though.
2 players call, and V2 3bets on the button to 125. I suspect that V2 is a pro who understands that V1 is often pretty weak here. He's 3bet V1 quite a few times now, so he probably doesn't have the nuts every time.
Hero is in the SB with Ac4c, and I feel like this is a good time to include a 4bet bluff. We are 1100 effective with both V's. How much do we raise to? What would we have raised to if we were on the button and V2 was in the cutoff instead?

2021.09.21 15:28 Seiliko How is it possible that I expect nothing and yet I am still disappointed
The "pain department" at my local hospital is one of my least favorite places. I have gone there twice, the first time (2018) they "could not" even consider all my symptoms because they were not explicitly mentioned in the referral (??????). Their conclusion (can't even remember what tests they did) was that my nervous system is overloaded or whatever. Their suggested treatment plan was "goodbye have a nice day, oh and you can increase your amitriptyline dose from 10 to 20mgs/day :)". This time they send me some papers beforehand to fill in (which seems to be standard where I live), they do some incredibly basic physical examinations, I have to talk to a psychologist and fill out some more forms, come back next day for their conclusion after they discuss all the info. They talk almost exclusively about my mental health issues and my struggle with sleep. I explain to them that I have noticed no difference in pain levels during periods of good sleep/mental health. They are adamant that the most important thing is to get my sleep and mental health better because that will make my pain easier to deal with. While this is not incorrect, sleeping better will not change the fact that I can not use my hands for more than a few minutes at a time without a crap-ton of pain, which prevents me from doing... Everything, pretty much? They still believe my nervous system is overloaded or whatever. Their suggested treatment plan is to increase my amitriptyline dose back up to 30mg (which I had intended to do anyway, I only went back to 20 because my awful doctor told me I had to after she prescribed me cymbalta (duloxetine) and now I have finally been allowed to stop taking that hell-poison). Maybe I can even increase my dose to more than 30mg! They say, as if that is going to fix all my issues. Don't get me wrong, I love amitriptyline. It has pretty much deleted my pelvic pain completely. But so far it has not affected any of my other problem areas. I am hoping that it could in a higher dose. But that's far from guaranteed. And I'm just tired of them focusing all their energy on my mental health and my traumas even though I do not feel like that is why I went to the pain specialist place. It just kind of feels like they don't take my pain seriously or view it as an issue capable of impacting my life just because my pain levels are usually pretty low on the pain scale.
Kind of reminds me of when I told an acquaintance the other day that all you get from having chronic pain is a lot of questions about trying yoga, so I tried yoga just so I can tell people to shut up about it (spoiler alert, it just made my pain angry). And this girl has the audacity to ask me "what kind of yoga?". Like, way to miss the point lmao

2021.09.21 15:28 Tayirving14 What do Braxton Hicks contractions feel like?
FTM - I’m 26 weeks. I’ve been running 2-3 miles/day for 5 days a week during my whole pregnancy. I’ve been running slower and walking more recently, and even got a belly band a couple weeks ago which helped with pelvic aches. Today when I was running, I got some bad pain that didn’t go away until I got home and sat down. I obviously stopped running when the pain started, but the rest of the walk home was pretty painful. Wondering if this is pelvic floor pain or Braxton Hicks contractions.

2021.09.21 15:28 zmans13 Memory Lane is Hiring Caregivers! (No experience needed)
To any students looking for a position in healthcare, there is a job opportunity described below for those with and without experience:
My job, Memory Lane Assisted Living, is hiring healthcare students!!! It's a "caregiver position" at a memory care home (that holds 6 residents) in Ypsilanti, MI (about 8 miles from campus and about 18 min drive), so it would require you having a car or figuring out a carpool with other UofM students. The pay is $14-$15/hour and they have other great perks. The job is really unique because you get to serve elderly residents with some form of dementia (e.g., Alzheimer's, Lewy Body, Vascular, etc). Throughout a work shift, you work with another caregiver and assist each resident with their needs (For example in the morning, you help brush their teeth, wash up, use the restroom, serve breakfast, and then run morning activities (e.g., exercise activities, musical singalongs, painting their nails, games, arts and crafts, baking, etc) and discussions. Some of the residents are more independent than others so the degree to which you help them out varies.
You also gain experience in learning about all the forms of dementia and how to manage the symptoms and behaviors. You also gain experience dealing with the medical needs of each resident such as administering medications, attending to any wounds or special treatments (e.g., I've worked with catheters, pressure ulcers, etc). My favorite part about working here is the amount of fun I have. I've never had a job where I am eager to go to everyday but this position is the best I've ever had. My coworkers are family to me and we have the most fun shifts that you can never tell how fast time flies. I consider Memory Lane my home and I know every worker there feels the same - it's a great feeling and I am so grateful to be a part of the resident's lives!
The expectation is that you can do 2 shifts a week (or more if you are able to)... Each shift is 8 hours and they are 6am to 2 (Day Shift) , 2-10pm (Evening Shift)... and Midnight shift 10pm to 6am... For the "Day" and "Evening" shifts, there are 2 caregivers on the floor at a time. During midnight shifts, there's 1 caregiver and someone on call. Overall, scheduling is fairly flexible. My boss and the admin team try to work around our schedules because they know we are all students who're busy with other commitments. For example, if you had a class at 2:30 and had to leave a little earlier from your shift that ends at 2pm, they would be okay and understanding, because the next caregiver could come in just a little earlier. Our supervisoadmin team are chill and understanding. You just have to communicate in advance if anything comes up. You also don’t need any experience to get a job, I started at Memory Lane with no experience but I feel so confident in my work as a caregiver and my future in healthcare through this job! I feel like this job has really prepared me for my future as a physician and has been one of my greatest experiences.
If you think you want to apply, email [email@example.com](mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org) with your resume or for more information you can call our office at 734-707-4039 and one of our admin team can tell you more. Please make sure to note that "Zee" referred you!!

2021.09.21 15:28 No-Hat5067 struggling to understand what my feelings are
is it possible to have a crush on someone that you know is not romantic, but you know it is also not strictly platonic. The way i feel about this girl is different than the type of feelings i have for friends, like i don't want to be liked in a friendly way by them, but i also don't want to be liked in a sexual way by them either. Is there some type of liking that exists between romantic and platonic? I don't even want to be with this girl, i have no physical desire to do anything with her, but everytime i see her and we make eye contact or she says hello to me, or asks me for something, i get incredibly nervous, and ecstatic and always think about our little interactions even when she is not around.
Maybe i am too scared about our interactions ever being more than that as it might confirm that she doesn't like me and that's why i don't want anything more than that. Idk. I'm 21 and i've never really had a sexual crush on anyone else either tbh - boys or girls, even though i like both. Ive maybe had some intense platonic crushes, but there is something about this crush that is different. I don't know why, but our interactions colonise my mind and i get sad at the thought that my feelings (whatever they even are) might be unrequited.
